Wine introduction

Overview

Premier Cru Traisental Grüner Veltliner with pear, stone fruit, meadow herbs, saline minerality and remarkable structure.
Ried Berg Grüner Veltliner 2024 comes from a steep, east-facing terraced vineyard with gradients of 25–40%. A thin humus layer overlies calcareous conglomerate, creating a lean, mineral site. Late-harvested ripe grapes receive 6–8 hours of skin contact before fermentation at 19°C and eight months in large acacia barrels with regular fine-lees stirring.

Why this wine matters

Ried Berg is a terroir-focused, premier-cru expression of Grüner Veltliner. The steep limestone-rich site, late harvest and long élevage in large acacia wood create a wine with power but little heaviness—an excellent example of how serious Traisental Grüner can become.
