Pinot Grigio is the Italian name for Pinot Gris, a grey-pink skinned mutation of Pinot Noir. It is best known for producing fresh, light and easy-drinking white wines in northern Italy, although the same grape can also make richer, more aromatic styles in Alsace, Germany and other regions.
