K+K Kirnbauer is led by Markus and Marlene Kirnbauer in Deutschkreutz, one of Austria’s key red-wine centres. Deep clay soils and the moderating influence of nearby Lake Neusiedl shape the vineyards, while meticulous grape selection and barrel maturation have become central to the estate’s style. Its best-known wine, Das Phantom, began as an experiment in 1987 and has since become the winery’s signature cuvée.
