Zulal Winery – Pure Expression of Armenia’s Indigenous Grapes

Zulal Winery, founded by winemaker Aimee Keushguerian, is dedicated to reviving and celebrating Armenia’s ancient native grape varieties. The word “Zulal” means “pure” in Armenian — a reflection of the winery’s philosophy: crafting wines that express the unfiltered purity of Armenia’s terroir, especially the high-altitude, volcanic landscapes of Vayots Dzor.

Working with pre-phylloxera vineyards, some more than a century old, Zulal focuses on Armenia’s flagship grapes such as Areni (red) and Voskehat (white). Each wine showcases bright acidity, mineral finesse, and distinctive aromas shaped by the region’s limestone and volcanic soils.

Fermented in stainless steel with minimal intervention, Zulal wines are fresh, elegant, and terroir-driven, offering a modern interpretation of an ancient winemaking culture that dates back over 6,000 years.

Zulal represents the new face of Armenian wine — authentic, expressive, and crafted with precision.
