A powerful old-vine-style Zweigelt Reserve with Amarena cherry, warm spice, cedar and polished tannins.
Houdini is K+K Kirnbauer’s expressive Zweigelt Reserve from Burgenland. The 2023 vintage is fermented in stainless steel, undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrique and then spends 24 months in 225-litre barrels made from oak sourced from the family’s own forests in Girm near Deutschkreutz.
Why this wine matters
Zweigelt is Austria’s most widely planted red grape, but Houdini pushes the variety into a more ambitious reserve style. Long barrique maturation brings structure and depth while the wine retains the fresh acidity and vivid cherry character that make Zweigelt distinctive.
