Blaufränkisch Gold Reserve 2022 is sourced predominantly from old vines in K+K Kirnbauer’s renowned Altes Weingebirge sites around Deutschkreutz. Fermentation in stainless steel is followed by malolactic fermentation and 18 months in 225-litre barriques, producing a powerful but finely balanced expression of Central Burgenland’s signature grape.
Why this wine matters
Blaufränkisch is the defining red grape of Mittelburgenland. This reserve bottling places old-vine fruit and site character at the centre, combining the grape’s natural acidity and spice with controlled barrique ageing. It is both a regional statement and a wine built for extended cellaring.
