Chateau des Moriers, La Brirette - Lieudit Les Moriers, AOP Fleurie, Rouge, hailing from the family-owned vineyard since 1850, is currently tended by Gilles Monrozier and his daughter Anne-Victoire. Specializing in age-worthy wines, particularly the classic La Brirette label, first introduced in 2014.
The 1ha plantation on the slope of La Brirette, bordering Moulin-à-Vent, imparts a beautiful structure to the wines, marked by depth, spiciness, and great elegance. The 2016 vintage, harvested in late September, promises classic aging potential, while the 2019 vintage, harvested in mid-September, is immediately enjoyable with its juicy and elegant character.
The 2020 vintage, characterized by a mouthful of spiciness and mineral notes, offers a seductive charm that endures with age. The vineyard, situated on North and North East slopes, boasts old alluvial soils with sandy pink granites. The grapes, exclusively Gamay, are harvested by hand and undergo a semi-carbonic, traditional vinification with a 10-day maceration, followed by a second maceration in 400L barrels for about a year.
