Carignan was introduced to Lebanon by the Jesuits in 1857 and became one of the foundational grapes of the Lebanese wine industry. Château Ksara's Carignan comes from 60-year-old vines planted in the West Bekaa Valley at 1,200 metres altitude, where limestone and clay soils produce wines of freshness, depth and character. Fermentation is carried out using wild yeasts in the historic concrete tanks built by the Jesuits.
